It is the 7077 build renumbered, very poorly. Lots of sites indicating this. Most dlls still say 7077.
No its 7106, some of the dlls were taken from 7077, for english language. On another point one post on mininova states that he tried to upgrade from 7106 to 7077, because its stated that 7106 has older code, and windows compatabilty said it couldn't because 7077 was an ealier build.???
i installed this,no watermark, setup exe said it was 7106.can someone tell me the run cmd to check what version this is........i found it is the real thing 7106
@ MSbetatester checked like 20 or 30 .dlls and they all say 7106 not one 7077. looks real to me, just the no watermark thing is weird..Windows media player is version 12.0.7106.0
I had a watermark popup, not the usual one it just said "TEST MODE" this didn't appear untill i think the 3rd restart.
A valid 7106 would have all file versioned at 7106. At best, this is some kind of frankenbuild hybrid. Use at your own risk. These leaked builds already have inherent risk of instability. Swapping files from build to build can only make things worse. But, I admit, it is fun to tinker.
Like it was said over and over again - it's a hybrid build that was initial a chinese one, later slipstreamed MUI ENG pack from 7077. Files would be marked as 7106 but when you dig deep enough - you can find some untranslated chinese dialog boxes. Besides - build 7106 is older that 7077. IMHO I would stick to the 7077 one or wait for the 708X+/711X+ ENG builds.
I actually was chatting to 180dudes, the uploader of the latest 7106 en legit build. A couple of simple points i made, confirms this too is a modded build, originating from the Chinese leak. One question he failed to anwser was why the regional resources (HIDDEN) only show CHINA, no other regions, these resources are simply windows themes, hidden in the MCT Folder, it should contain 5 Theme folders in the Chinese leak it contains only 1. If they want to modify the build thats fine, but i think its only fair to let people know its modified and not BS and make out its legit. So we can conclude there is no "LEGITIMATE" English 7106 available. And for those who want to know, the latest confirmed build is 7088.
