Hi guys am new here... i have windows 7 ultimate running on HP dv7.. my problem is whenever i restart my pc for whatever reason my windows 7 drops the ip address... a call to my ISP confirms the same... i have to reset my router (Wmax wireless) for me to be able to connect again.. this drives me nuts considering the router takes about almost 10min to reset..

i have installed Ubuntu 10.04 side by side and i dont get the same issue on it... i really like Win 7... is there a way i can fix this automatically .... someone recommended "IPCONFIG /renew.."

I had a similar problem since 2 days ,which I fixed only a few hours ago. It was driving me nuts. In my case it was the DefaultGateway on my static IP connection getting dropped/reset/erased on reboot. Check this thread for possible solutions

"ipconfig/release" followed by "ipconfig/reset" seem to fix the issues.... but is this a win 7 problem or is it just my machine configuration...
