I went ahead and installed enterprise on my laptop and have been using it since it has been on the ms software assurance page (and before we got the keys). Now the problem is i no longer work at the place that has the licenses and i need to convert my enterprise installation to professional/ultimate or anything i can buy a key for. It is imperative i do not reinstall as i have everything setup just perfect. I have tried the ProductID hack in the registry to no avail. Does anyone know a way i can preserve the installation (programs, drivers, most importantly firewall settings) and change versions? Thanks.
Thanks for the reply but that method does not work, i've already tried it. Does anyone else have any ideas? I'm thinking of just using RemoveWAT but i mean its only 30 bucks for a legit license ya know. God microsoft likes to screw themselves.
Unless you find some hacks to do it, it would be impossible to do because MS made it so you cant downgrade from Enterprise to any other version. They made enterprise it's own entity.
Loaders do not work for enterprise except Rapalum's Extreme loader but that only makes the trial count a really big number which I fear could and would be easily detected
Napalums Extreme Loader does work fine - thats correct. If the OP wishes to patch and 'wait and see' if it ever gets picked up - then that would be a sensible course of action. No point not patching your Ent Edition "just in case" some time in the future it 'may' get picked up by MS. Patch and enjoy! .....or start reformating now,,,
