I have the following challange .. currently i have a HP 620 notebook with Windows 7 HP 64 bit but the recovery DVD's are missing. Now i would like to get Windows 7 also on my older HP 6715s so i cloned the harddisks and then booted .. but it wouldnt work and also the recovery option from the harddisk failed :(

What should i do to get Windows 7 running on the HP 6715s as well ?

LatinMcG has your answer. If no recovery media for disaster recovery is a worry, make a system image (two maybe) and keep it in a secure location.
