You don't need a "tool" to remove the ei.cfg file. You have to be an idiot if you need a tool to remove or modify the ei.cfg file.
I am aware onto how to delete config file, which can be done using a program like magicISO. Was just wondering if I delete the config file, will it unlock all editions(professional, home premium etc) on my current ULTIMATE OEM x64 ?
If you check around it's common knowledge it will give you a list of the editions you can install. Just delete the ei.cfg in the sources folder and it will give you a pop up screen with the editions when you go to install. Just won't show Enterprise.
Jeez, just jump on the guy. He says that the EI.CFG Removal Utility saves you from bothering to rebuild the ISO. What's wrong with a tiny time saver?
Because there is no x64 Home Basic version Home Basic and Started have switeched places.HP will be sold only in emerging markets and will be fairly rare.Starter will come with netbooks generallly Both of them are exclusevly x86
I don't know why people want to create new ISOs when the solution was posted earlier. Delete the ei.cfg that is it. Load up MagicISO or ISOBuster or UltraISO and delete the file and save the ISO, it takes a lot less time than recompiling a whole new ISO. Even then why install off of a DVD when a thumb drive or off the hard drive itself takes half the time. Thanks for the program, but it doesn't really serve a purpose when the best solution is a lot faster and easier.
Just wondering, since it's not written in the description, is this trick only compatible with the english RTM or will it also work with other regional languages?
Hmm, looking into my x64 install.wim reveals 4 versions: Home Basic, Home Premium, Professional and Ultimate.
