Some friend activated Windows 7 Enterprise against a server he's not familiar with; he claims that during the SLMGR /ATO, he also got various group policy settings, for example that he can't change the desktop wallpaper. I claim that it has nothing to do with it, and he probably had the problem before and didn't know it; can a KMS activation server send a GPO alongside the activation confirmation, or something like that? exactly what I thought... I ran GSOP and saw all kinds of memberships, and I'm betting it's because they took the computer to work at some time, who knows how long ago, and don't remember (or don't know) that they joined a domain (maybe they were removed, who knows.) Thanks!
