Windows 7 media player laptop problem

    When playing mp3's using windows media player the volume of the sound goes low. But when using a program like VLC to play mp3, the sound quality is good. What seems to be the problem? Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Adjust volume level of wmp in volume mixer

    You could also try messing with the equalizer and other sound enhancements.
