I see...Cheers.. Why search when somebody else knows the answer....Made you look clever knowing it....
E is the Euro edition. Due to some monopoly related case,MS had to remove the windows media player & IE from that.
E "European " as stated above was one of many options microsoft were concidering to appease Europe ,in Europe at least, an internet browser is concidered as a software in its own right and seperate from the OS . the European courts demanded that OS users should have the right to choose what browser they want to use ,and not be coherced into using only one that was bundled with the software . the (E) solution did not actually get into use .dispite the E OS being leaked around the same time as the RTM , microsoft themselves never issued it .instead at the last minute deciding apon a browser choices option that was offered via windows update. the (E) Version was deviod of internet explorer ,but in other respects the same as the standard OS. (N) Version is also unusual ,as it was leaked along with RTM ,this first leaked version had no windows media player (and no associated softwares ,dvd maker, movie maker etc) and no internet explorer ,however microsoft soon released a revised edition (N1) that only has the media player softwares removed, this N1 version is now marketed as just N.
