Hey! I've collected all of SoLoR & SweetSmile's Windows 7 Post-SP1 updates (there's 108 of them overall!) and packaged them into a self-extracting Windows Installer that will extract all the MSU's and install them one by one automatically without creating a dozen popups from the Windows Update installer - with a nice GUI etc. Basically a click and go install process. All updates included! UPDATED: both x64 & x86 added! There was an issue with the installer posted earlier which made Windows Update attempt to restart Windows after the first hotfix on some machines, rather than waiting for the other 100-odd updates to be installed. Updated *FIXED* installer links are below! This will update Windows to version 7601.21649. Most of them through here and not via WU. full list of KB's are in the installer - Most recent is Windows6.1-KB2502789-x64 from 31/01 i think!
Just downloaded and installed this. Windows updates show only 3 installed today- KB2496290, KB2495786 and KB2495523. Windows build string remained unchanged.
Hey venu! Are you using x64 or x86? The installer basically calls wusa once the MSU files have been extracted, then runs them on quiet mode with the /norestart flag, before waiting for the wusa process to terminate before calling wusa again for the next MSU file. Theoretically will only install the updates which are required or compatible with your current system installation - In my case with a clean SP1 RTM installation it installed all of them!
SP1 RTM but hey I've updated since then! but still the numbers dont add up. Also, it made me force restart. Should I rerun?
Ahh! You might have downloaded it before I changed the links above! I posted the files earlier but completely forgot to make sure "/norestart" was present on each MSU, which meant as the scripts were running it got to about 2nd or 3rd one down before WUSA forced restart, and the installer hadn't yet finished with the remainder of the updates... Quick way to check - Did the darkened whole screen restart / shutting down dialog appear automatically pretty much straight away or did you have a nice 'Restart Now / Later' dialog window on the actual installer after about 20 minutes?
Umm..it was the darkened whole screen restart, at least there was no Restart now/later dialog. At 90 mb it'll be a large download on my limited connection, but if you advise I can give it a shot.
Yeah that sounds like it was my fault - Sorry! Completely didn't realise until I installed the x86 version which I made later. All is fixed though now - Download link on the first post is the definitive working one that doesn't restart and will install everything!
Thanks for the update pack. Nevertheless the x86 pack has an failure. The setup try to install KB2595523 but it is not included in the update pack. Greetings Zero
Guys, how can I extract the individual hotfix (msu) files from Windows 7 Pre-SP2 Hotfixes Installer? The reason is that I will only install some of the hotfixes. Plus, I need the msu files to be slipstreamed by RT 7 Lite. Thanks.
When you run the installer all the hotfixes inside get extracted to C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Local\Temp ..Make sure you view hidden files and folders
Hi Justsomeboy. Thanks for this great update pack. I was wondering if you will release more of these in the future, as I found this one easy to use, and effective.
