    Hi all,

I am a newbie and have searched all the forum for Windows 7 Professional DVD or iso for HP Probook 6550b Core i7 Q720.

I have lost my DVD and my windows won't start anymore:(. So i was looking for a compatible DVD for my Laptop. Can someone please point me to the right direction??

    Thanks in advance.

Do you not have a recovery partition that can be accessed by pressing F11 when computer starts.

There is no recovery option at all. I have tried to use all the function keys.

Thanks Urie but i can't boot the corrupted windows. also my situation is worsened now that i come to know that my laptop has an admin password which i don't know and i have tried different combination. I've also seen couple of posts in this forum regarding the bios but they don't work with my laptop.

Do you know of any workaround for bios?

Thanks again Urie, I've been to Dogbert blog but i dont get any error codes so i cant do much about it. My windows installation is corrupt so Admin password recovery is of no use for me.

Anyway i tried doing a network installation using pxe boot using cyberstreams.com/blog/?p=248 but using net use command gives me error 53 and/or 67. The network path was not found.

I tried pinging the server and got the following error:

PING: transmit failed, error code 1231.
PING: transmit failed, error code 1231.
PING: transmit failed, error code 1231.
PING: transmit failed, error code 1231.

Any suggestions on what is going wrong?

Can't you boot from bootable usb flash with Windows 7 install files on it?

No, i tried it first after i came to know that i can't boot off DVD drive. Although i saw somewhere that it can boot off bootable usb drive but i think there is something wrong or locked/disabled on my Laptop.
