A Samsung laptop was formatted with Windows 7 Ultimate by someone and they installed a DELL loader and possibly cracks. I've repaired the bootloader and used various techniques to try and get it to recognise the Samsung XRM-MS and key. The best I've managed to do so far is to reset it back to trial. This has allowed me to install MS Security Essentials which has removed a number of trojans and other toolbars and crap. The Samsung cert and key "install" OK however it still sticks in Trial mode and then says the Samsung key is invalid, triggering WPA. I do not want to have to reinstall nor use further cracks etc. How do I make it genuine again?
I suggest you reinstall windows completely and then activating with Windows Loader. Maybe not all crap has been removed by MSE.
Its not my laptop, and she is adamant that the laptop is not re-formatted (that's my last resort answer). I'll get the MGADiag log. And thanks, I never thought about looking in the Loader threads because I wanting to use a loader.
I'm going to format unless I can fix it. Shouldn't need a loader when it's a Samsung laptop, just some amature installed a Dell loader instead of just using OEM key for Samsung :/
A loader simplifies the install of key and certificate... Edit: I dont think u fully understood what WL actually does
What model of samsung laptop is it. If its one of the new models then the bios may already contain the samsung slic. If thats the case then you would need the correct cert and key. Was the win 7 copy an original or downloaded with a crack. - If downloaded with a patch crack you may still have elements of that on the os. If thats the case than you have 2 choices. Either re-install using a good copy of win 7 and then activate with the samsung cert and key. or Use one of the loaders on the MDL forums
