I just noticed that in the System Information window, it says 'Service Pack 2'. Clearly something wrong going on here. I haven't installed any dodgy or unofficial updates or anything else I can think of. There's nothing else wrong and it doesn't seem to have any side effects, just seemed a bit weird. Does anyone else see this?
Nope, it's a clean install Where have you been over this already? I tried searching, but I couldn't find anything
eh, then you installed a game that changes that registry setting (or actualy i think crack for that game does). Bottom line is, its fake and "over this" i mean like 4-5 months ago, so its ooold.
so versions of windows 7 say that if you notice its windows 6.1 sp 2 which there is no such thing. its just a error. ignore it and move on. your welcome. happy holidays
Can't really afford to ignore it. If he doesn't fix it he may not be able to install Service Packs or some updates. One useful use for spoofing a service pack is to install applications that require Vista SP1 or SP2 to install.
stop blaming updates, i have ALL installed and my computer is 10001% stable. anyway if you want to figure out what registry setting, you can search history of my posts... i know i posted once.
Then please explain how it never happens to me? People are usualy installing updates + other crap and at the end blame updates except "other crap". Like my stupid brother, you reinstall his computer it works perfectly. Then in a week he starts to whine to you that "something just happened" and Messanger (or some other thing that worked a week ago without issues) stoped working. And then you check a bit registry and you see he installed and uninstalled about 20 different programs in that week and ofc "something just happend and its not his fault".
OK you have a point. The subject is that not all people verify what is or not is applicable and they are going installing any thing in their computers causing those problems. I believe that you are intelligent enough to verify the compatibility of the updates before installing them, due this you don't have problems, but nor all are so smart.
SoLor I don't want to fight with you or nobody, you have your opinion and I have mine, each one of us acts how we lives. I, particularly, don't install anything that is not from reliable sources at computer (that is my opinion), if you install and doesn't have problems, it is your option. I won't try to convince you otherwise because I believe each one is entitled of having his own opinion, since it doesn't affect the freedom of opinion of the other.
You are an idiot. If your computer wasn't 1001% stable the first thing I would suspect would be the keyboard to chair interface. Quit defending leaked updates.
ill quit defending them, when you and people like you will stop marking them as greatest evil after holocaust in 2nd world war.
Wouldn't it be better to keep focused on the topic and stop playing this odd "good update, bad update" game?
