i have formatted a friend's laptop and installed windows 7 starter
but am facing a very strange problem
    i cannot update the system
when im checking for updates an error code 8024402f appears and telling me that it cannot check for updates
when this problem came after a fresh install i thought the daz loader was a problem so i uninstalled the loader but same error appears. i tried microsoft fix it , microsoftupdate cab but the same thing
after a lot of hours of googleing nothing solved this problem
so i re-formatted it but still the same thing
my windows 7 are untouched , i have used only eing removal for windows 7 home premium x86 just to have the option to install the starter
    please help me

try turning auto updates off then turn them back on again ?
I have sometimes had issues like this on fresh re-installs.
Also try some manual downloads from microsoft and see if they install ie. SP1 to see if this kicks in the auto updating process ??
