    I just did a fresh install of Win7 and didn't install KB2952664 in the first place.

    Recently I am busy helping friends to remove these KB's :)
    I have disabled WU. I watch which KBs the admins of the company where I work are approving via WSUS, then I apply them manually at home. Since it's a research and develop lab I hope they are concerned (corporate privacy) as I am...or even more...:)

    Just remove CompatTelrunner.exe from system 32 and Telementry will be gone .

    Help please - I need to install windows 7 on an older machine due to driver issues.

    Could you please give me some advice about what updates I should avoid.

    Telemetry & an others that you would advise against - for an old laptop (core 2 duo) - with an ssd.

    I am getting overwhelmed by the multitude of posts and different opinions - I'm seeking some clarity so I can move proceed confidently.

    The best place to start is to not use W7 Update but use the Simplex Pack at the top of this Forum. It includes only the Security Patches so even if it might include a telemetry patch there will be less to remove than using W7 Update

    i used the simplix update pack not so long ago (2 - 3 weeks) and i can confirm the telemetry updates are included!
