windows 7 ultimate 64bit draggin it's feet I have a Q6600 with 8GB of Ram and a 250GB Raid 1 Setup. Windows 7 is extremely slow. I can take several seconds for browsers to load and respond when switching tabs. I haven't installed much else I am thinking about switching back to server 2003 32 bit or trying server 2008. Any ideas as to what could be happening? Task manager looks normal.
So your computer is slow or your internet browser is slow? Check out some win7 tweak guides or install google chrome
you probably have something wrong either some outdated driver or I dunno.....Windows 7 is the fastest version of Windows Ive used hands down! no neeed for any tweaking whatsoever! runs super fasst out of teh box
Install the Intel Raid matrix and enable Writeback and drive cache on your raid. If your ich is 7, 8 dump it.
it's a dp35dp so ICH9R is what i got. chrome is one of my browsers and if left alone (20min) chrome will become totally unresponsive. It's my first try with 64bit and most of the apps are 32bit so i was thinking it was that. It's everything, os loads fairly quick. After that the os is slow and all the apps are as well. I was thinking drivers as well but i havent had alot of luck finding drivers for add on cards, ect. But i'm sure intel will have drivers for me.
Fresh install?? Do you have indexing enabled?? right click on C drive and select C drive, take the checkmark out of allow this drive to have content indexed. Select ignore all when asked.
Keys work for both 32bit and 64bit... The "Bitness" doesn't matter as long as you got the Correct edition... Keys are not made by bits... its made by edition..
If You Have Firefox Reinstall it along with all the codecs... this fixed my slow browser hanging problem...
