Hi all, just got ahold of the beta build, I was running vista ultimate on my gateway m series laptop and wanted to see how a "upgrade" to the win 7 beta would do, so i backed up my date and let her rip.. here's how it went:

    upgrade about 1 hour
    no errors during the upgrade

after getting to my desktop i see that the upgrade did remove:

    windows mail
    windows photo gallery
    movie maker
download messenger shorcut in start menu (I have not downloaded it yet in vista)
    windows calendar
    windows contacts

but it leaves fax and scan? strange

all the day to day apps i use i opened once and all started no problem, these include:

    yahoo messenger ver 9
    microsoft office 2007
    real player ver 11
    zune software 3.1

and all the standard programs, paint, notepad etc

IE7 was upgraded to 8 beta obviously, it is slow loading, some crashes but this is expected

my experience score did not change at all, 3.2

so far i am happy with the upgrade, may try a clean install soon, but will play with my system for a while.

remember as we should to back up your data when working with betas!
