No, they just won't work, trust me. Have you tried installing the drivers through the device manager ? Rightclicking the device, and choosing (re)install driver ?
@genuine555 Do I need to install the 32bit OS? @BuonaDomenica I did, but no good, I don't have ethernet. I run on a router. Do I need ethernet instead to get the updates in 64bit?
Allthough reverting to 32bit could solve the issue, which i'm not certain yet, don't give up on x64 yet. If you have a router and access to the internet, then u're using Ethernet. Trust me. Ethernet is a networkingprotocol with which computers communicate with each other in a LAN. It's widely spread around the globe, and these days, it acts as a layer on which certain protocols such as TCP/IP can run. So in short, if you want internetaccess, you need TCP/IP, and for TCP/IP you need ethernet.
What kind of message do you get when trying to install these drivers ? Or describe to me exactly what happens. What kind of error, warning, events, etc...
Can't remember exactly what it said, but I did get the driver signed once in x64 but the light didn't blink, it detected the wireless adapter but I couldn't right click to get into status for it. I'll just see if I can try to get it back up again and if it doesn't work then I might have to stick to 32bit until i get a better hardware.
Well, after googling a bit, there seems to be very little support on this device. The link BuonaDomenica gave you is about the only place to get these x64 drivers, besides the vendor's site. And they give little or no support.
the correct download for this device is hxxp://fastaccess.drivers.bellsouth.net/archive/drivers/Netopia_USB/Win2KXPG.zip works with windows 7. change the x's to t's.
The original post was over three years ago; I suspect the problem has long been solved. Either that or the OP is a very patient person indeed.
