I have windows 7 ultimate on my laptop.Plus im using the daz loader for activation.I received the notification for windows 10 also. Will I be able to update to windows 10? Or will I have to get legit key? Thanks.
most likely no, but wait and see. need final code and win10 released before there can be a proper answer to your question.
No one knows yet. Likely it will upgrade to windows 10 but overwrite the boot loader during the process. So when you boot into windows 10 it will say it needs activation.
This might not be true. At the moment we don't know for sure because Microsoft hasn't talked much about how activation will actually work, which is the opposite of what they done with Windows 8. Right now I'd tell people to reserve the update but not to install it right away when it becomes available. Wait for others here to test it and report back.
Wether this is correct is one thing but I heard it had something to do with windows using the store app login to link that serial onto your outlook so you could do a fresh install on june 29th etc, just another bit of anti piracy maybe lol
I would backup all your data and go for it and do the upgrade. Once you have done the upgrade if it shows that your not activated, run Microsoft Tool Kit 2.5.3 and that should activate your windows 10
No, it won't. When Micrsoft release the final version of an OS they normally change the KMS protocol. That means that you won't be able to activate the RTM version of Windows 10 with KMS.
If Windows 10 final builds will be pre-keyed and pre-activated ( ESD for each a particular and unique machine) with reservation (I have heard that ) , you do not have to enter a product key , but we don't know that for shure before July 29
So far, I have not seen any icon for the Win 10 upgrade on my machine (Win 7 Ultimate-Daz Loader). Win 7 is working and is activated. I hid KB 3021971. Could this be why I have not gotten the upgrade reservation icon? jetjock
I don't think Daz meant it would permanently block kms activation, just that it changes for each protocol version, so someone would have to reverse it again. I'd recommend to anyone who doesn't have the little upgrade icon on win7/8.x to run the cmd script posted from that support article. These win10 upgrades will be assigned to their servers based on your system's hardware. I also suspect that we'll be able to get a key for re-install purposes. The hardware checks will likely just be on their end for activation purposes.
I'm sure that will be more difficult to stay with win 7/8 than upgrade to 10. Since they decided to ape Google and Apple trying make money with the blades, making money with the razor become almost irrelevant.
