My neighbors retired and his HD died - Told him I'd reload windows for him. HP DC7600 Pentium 4 @ 3.0G with 4G memory. Windows wont update. New HD installed. Ok - Have read through forum(S) Watched utube videos and tried them... Have Run: MicrosoftEasyFix50202 update repair tool MicrosoftFixit50123 WindowsUpdateDiagnostic tweaking.com_windows_repair_aio And reinstalled W7 64 bit. (Should I try 32 bit?) See data transferring in task manager networking. wuauserv and bits are running. Windows Update Agent 7.6.7600.320 is installed. Also it wont run windows 10. Even with newest bios I get - Processor doesn't support LAHF/SAHF and PreftchW. (Have read other people have got 10 to work???) TY
I had this problem with windows 7 home version and installed Windows 7 Enterprise version and is 100% working with windows update.
Update This seems to be a common problem: sevenforums.com - tutorials has a answer. Loaded win 32 - Three batch files are available. Reset_Reregister_Windows_Update_Components Reset_Windows_Update_History Reset_Windows_Update_Full And reloaded WindowsUpdateAgent-7.6-x86
There are a couple of posts concerning this very topic that were posted just before yours. Well, a couple of posts down from yours on the active list anyway. This is obviously a "pandemic" of some sort.
Now the next trick is figuring out how people get W10 to work with a Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.00GHz BFEBFBFF00000F43 When you are told 'This Processor is Not Supported'. "Processor doesn't support LAHF/SAHF and PreftchW" Have seen posts where people have done it. One person speculated that loading from USB doesn't check. And I don't see anything in the bios to turn on / off much. Hewlett-Packard 786D1 v01.61 7/1/2009 I Love 'Lost Causes' - LOL
To what end? The machine will crash if the OS or an application should try to call one of those unimplemented instructions, and you can't be certain that will never happen. Just install x86. (Edit: Actually an application trying to use those instructions won't crash the entire machine, but the kernel or a driver will.)
This error can pop up 'virtually' ( ) anywhere the technology is needed. Just today, it popped up in Android Studio, because android apps can be ran in a virtual machine on my computer. If your BIOS and CPU support Virtualization, usually it can be enabled in the BIOS.
Are you trying to create a fresh installation of windows 10 or trying to upgrade windows 7 to windows 10.
