Guten tag everyone.... This question may seem stupid, but I am genuinely curious.... My friend obtained a copy of some BIE-group Win7 release... On serial screen one just presses NEXT and no serial needed, somehow.. Win7 Ultimate installed fine on his comp, everything running smooth. Even says Genuine product in config menu... He performed the Windows Update. Can this be hazardous to his comp, considering it is a copy? Does M$ posess the right to "zap" or render useless his OS? Should auto updates be turned off? I imagine more than one person is wondering about this. danke
Get lost buddy this isn't a user name selection discussion forum. Im sure there is one out there somewhere in cyber space so why don't u go bother someone else about their alias there. If you don't have anything productive to say then keep it to urself. Ur just a waste of bandwidth. Oh to answer ur question, yes I do think my name is a good "choice"... Why do u think I picked it in the first place? fool.
It might, 1. the OEM:SLP keys used may be blacklisted 2. As the BIE release uses an integrated Bootloader this could be detected/deactivated But for the moment no one here can predict the exact outcome, as their is no verified source of what is going to happen in the future, for example with the Windows Genuine Advantage program or other Anti Piracy features in Windows 7. Btw your nickname, bad choice.... but lucky most of these guys were shot after the war
mate, 2 more days to go.. lets see what happens.. i mean whether MS finds any solution to stop BIOS mod or not.. til then enjoy with updates
Dell Freestyler is correct. The 64 BIE release is using the Dell key on a loader and I have been running it on a test machine for several weeks, and updated every time from windows update. My Best
Oh ok quite interesting, thanks for reply. In your opinion, based on what little everyone really knows about these anti-piracy implementations, would you think it to be wise to at this point disable windows updates to prevent any future possible security measure? Then again, Im sure even with WU disabled, Win7 has some sort of backdoor firewall-proof port that would, if at M$'s whim, decided to download an anti-piracy or serial verifier to your computer without users knowledge. (everyones for that matter!) Your thoughts?> ...oh and while we are on subject, is there any counter-measure that could concieveably be done to prevent such a thing from occuring?
I think that any version with loader should be updated manually. I mean to choose the updates that will not disable that loader. If you want my opinion, try to mod BIOS. That is the best way to stay updated.
Disable updates??? it is still Windows you know!!! You have to plaster the security holes in it from time to time
Don't like it, don't use it... If you want to be an idiot and download and run random apps you find on the internet, get Linux. Eh.. I had a response to Derdusche's "Oh to answer ur question, yes I do think my name is a good "choice"... Why do u think I picked it in the first place? fool." comment but it got erased... Suffice to say I said he's either an idiot or a coward who needs to bully people that are different because he can't stand on his own.
a "bot" tell you something: yes, the safest is an original, each update a ramdom time-bomb could contain the most important in bytewar is to keep the enemy in the dark for as long as possible.
Suppose M$ owns a little of us all in a way... Imagine if the US Govt collaborated behind closed-doors with M$ to install spyware on all of our comps? Even apple concerning iTunes?? Sorry lil off topic but It came to mind when thinking about this MS auto update timebomb theory...
You mean something like The National Socialist Party could have done from 1939-1945 on the enigma machines?
Seems like theres alot of flamers on this forum Do you fools make cracks at everyones screen name that you disapprove of? Sounds like you nerds are more nazi-minded than I... Automatically disliking someone under the premise that their beliefs or ideals are different from yours.
