Windows 8.1 Activation Error

    Trying to activate windows 8.1 with windows 8 upgrade key
    Any help will be great

    Make sure the edition of Windows 8.1 installed on your computer accordance with upgrade key you have.

    For Windows 8 Pro Retail

    U can Install Windows 8.1 directly with the generic product key.

    Once Windows 8.1 is installed you may go to system properties and change product key.
    Input your actual Windows 8.0 product key and it will activate.

    or from command prompt, type

    slmgr /upk
    slmgr /ipk (your win 8 Key)
    slmgr /ato


    Backup your system before test!
