enterprise and VL versions are not to be intended to run WMC by design

no, not the media player but the Windows Media center which is an addon to pro version. was free in Windows 7 but you get charged now since W8 for it

 

Has anyone tried the new Windows Media center in win8/8.1. Is it any better or different then win7 version?

 

Enterprise Version intended to Be Corporate Use Only & Any Corporate Wan't Maximum Time From There Employees.

You don't even need the files to make Windows To Go moderate provides. You can easily install / apply the Install.wim on UFD and you're done. The Enterprise Tool is more or less just an UI.

I'm working on something (needs some more time) that also includes WMC for Enterprise.
If it's a success I will post it...

 

agreed, there have been many difficult things that have been done. Someone might just do it. Like I dunno Mr Jinje

Any luck on loading MWC in the Enterprise (or even VL version of Pro for that matter) versions of Windows 8/8.1? I have properly licensed version of Windows 8 Pro and Enterprise and it would be fantastic to be able to get back my WMC functionality.

If you want to make WMC work on Enterprise, there are two steps required:
1. Rip it from W8-1 Pro-WMC edition
2. Crack the edition version check

There are MDL users like Woot or Jan1 capable to do the 2nd step.
Maybe somebody should create new thread about it...

Yes, I can successfully run WMC on Enterprise but this needs hacked Kernel-Licensing. Unfortunatly nobody want's to go deeper with it. Patching files indeed is the next possible solution but hacking/patching/hook the kernel-licensing with e.g. a driver or rootkit would open much more interessting features for client/server as just looking for patches one application after another.

ATM I'm very busy. maybe next week I can release some stuff as described in my thread.

forget it. If you need that crap, dowmgrade to 8 pro and try to install WMC or install from scratch new OS 8pro which allows adding that feature
