Could someone please upload the following new fonts from Windows 8.1 installation: Leelawadee UI, Segoe UI Symbol, Javanese Text, and Nirmala UI. I need to install these fonts to my Windows 7 so it will have the same international text support as Windows 8.1.

    Thanks.

Looks for Seroge UI ( you already should have that font ;) )

You mean Segoe UI? It's default UI font in Windows 7.

It's not exactly the same. They made subtle changes to letters and numbers.

Download a Windows 8.1 iso, and extract the Segoe UI font that you want to use in 7.

The Windows 8.1 iso is huge (about 3 GB). I just need few fonts (perhaps about 5 MB) and don't need the rest.

Beware that the Segoe UI fonts are not the same in the family. The italic typefaces are different, in fact they don't even look like the same font, the 'Q' and the 'a' glyphs are completely different.

I'll pull the fonts out of a Win 8.1 system tomorrow and upload for you.

Thanks, steven4554. Can you upload the following fonts as well? Leelawadee UI, Segoe UI Symbol, Javanese Text, and Nirmala UI. Some of these fonts can be found in Windows 7, but Windows 8.1 version has more international text support. For example Segoe UI Symbol in Windows 8.1 has Coptic script support.

Open "X:\Windows\Resources\Themes\Aero\en-US\aero.msstyles.mui" with a resource editor. Its string table has many references to Segoe UI font. Perhaps modifying this file and replacing Segoe UI string with other font name will work to change Windows UI font. I don't know if aero.msstyles and aero.msstyles.mui still exist in Windows 8.1.

Hrm, I just scrubbed the drive with 8.1 after i'd connected it to my Mac and removed every font in Windows/Fonts and in Windows/Boot/Fonts and placed in my moded Tahoma (with slashed Zero) in an attempt to get Win8.1 to default to using it as it being the only font available in those paths, surprisingly, it didn't use my Tahoma, instead some bitmapped font from 1990 haha. So, back to Win7.
