    Not that I don't trust it... but is there any way to validate the authenticity of it?

    You can't compare with any hash from msft, so you can never be 100% sure.

    Isn't this just the RTM with slipstreamed updates? What's so special about it?

    The install.esd must have the same hash, surely?

    If somebody has it 8.1pro x64 en-US install.esd their HD still, they might post up the hash. I only have 8.1pro x64 en-GB.

    Mine has boot files version 16415 in boot.wim and in winre.wim - that is different from the rtm.

    Do you really think MS would burn DVDs of the RTM (the boxed versions) if it wasn't the final version?

    Cmon people, dont bother with this, install RTM, update, and profit :D

    Yes. do you really think they would alienate and infuriate the majority of long time Windows users by forcing an inferior touchscreen interface on them?

    It is different. It might not necessarily be important to you, but the GA iso is different from installing the rtm and the updates.

    Why don't you do it yourself there is a thread for SL versions about that and with dism you can integrate updates. :confused:
