Windows 8.1 installation question

    If I boot onto the Windows 8.1 installation disk, And select UPDATE will I have the option to select which drive/parition to update?

    I've never done an upgrade install, prefer clean install. But I assume no, since it will upgrade your current installation.

    I have to agree with this. A clean install is the best install, IMO

    Last week I did an upgrade from 8.0 to 8.1u1 on a friends computer and it worked great, not a single program or utility had to be reinstalled.

    Is there a way to then make a backup of windows 7 stuff and restore it on 8?
