Hello, I'm a n00b, but with 8.1 I'm a bigger n00b. I have 8.1 that will connect to the internet [Wifi + Cable] but one specific network it will only make a limited connection [Wifi + Cable], but the network works fine with other devices... I suppose that the network is blocked but I don't see where or how! It's a new computer, with nothing but office and McAfee LiveSafe Please help!
Yah, if we were simply naming things we don't like on our own systems, I would put every single a/v-related program on it. I even disable Windows Defender. Apparently there are still people who think that a/v programs actually help you. I have personally never witnessed this miraculous occurrence.
I used to have the same problem with my Toshiba laptop before. But after I upgraded the wifi router firmware, my laptop is working fine.
8.1 Home Premium? Where does it say that Repairing to many in one go sorry! Anyway I deleted all AV plus reset windows firewall. Will test this week. Thanks guys!
Must commit Bitdefender in my last test kept my PC 1000% safe from being infected by rendering the OS useless with a Repair Loop at boot .
I did a fresh install of win8.1 twice on my friends laptop and keep getting "limited Internet access /unidentified network" on wifi/ethernet. i tried all the command prompt tricks as admin, rebooted, no go, tried to manually update driver, no go. Reinstalled win7 x64 and Internet/wifi work beautifully but my friend insist on having this POS win8 . 1 I tried different win8.1 iso's, no go.... I tried installing the iso from different flash drives, burned iso at different speeds
Now it says that the default gateway is not available, and ethernet does not have a valid IP configuration?
