This is RTM without GA updates, as available in MSDN.

    GA Means General Availability

Basically, After the Windows 8.1 RTM Iso was released and everyone thought that was the final verison, Microsoft decided to release a few more updates and repackage the ISO as GA (General Availability; in other words PUBLIC)

PM sent with the download links

What are the Pro's / Con's of the GA /vs Non GA version? Sounds like ISO was updated which is good, anything they stripped out?

Q: Is the GA version "bootable, in that you can do a fresh install with it?
"Store" version of 8.1 isn't bootable, right?

PS: To MS, on a OEM install which 90% of computers are shipped with the customer should be able to acquire the 8.1 iso via the "Store", or thru the OEM directly. I was unable to:
A: Create the "Recovery Discs" via the machine itself.
B: Unable to obtain 8.1 ISO via the store.
C: Not sure if the "image" created while in 8.1 works... read after I upgraded to 8.1 the imaging app does not work right.

Not "happy" with wasting 3.62gb of bandwidth and not being able to store a local copy of the image /create install media if (or should I say when) needed at a future date.

Can someone PM me some links?
    Type x64 , US English

MS did not release an ISO with GA for retail on MSDN, VLSC, Technet or anywhere else to my knowledge. However, the store did and does give the option to download and create an ISO. The difference with this ISO is that is has an esd instead of a wim file inside of it for install. That alone has no issue with installing, rather editing or creating a modified iso isn't possible with the esd.

Even though "technically" it is untouched from the store, since MS and their little program download and create the iso all by itself, it is still not permitted here at MDL With that said, what you might want to look for, is a file that is 3.06gb named
    Code:
    WindowsBlue-ProESDwithApps-64bit-English-X1897213.iso (3.06 GB)
. Someone can correct me if I am wrong, but I do believe that is the GA rollup store downloaded and created iso.

searching 9DD6DE5D83DD641F121CD23E50D9F63F67D2CF6B in the forum here might also return interesting results. Just sayin.

Store upgrade do not offer the option to create ISO file, it's just an in place upgrade using .esd file

the esd file you mentioned is the one downloaded by the Upgrade Program "WindowsSetupBox", which gives the option to create ISO :D
