I can't remember a RTM being this buggy in a long time. Now I can see why Microsoft has been so hesitant to release 8.1
Even that plenty people don't want to admit it, or just don't know / remember it, but previous OS-Versions had quite buggy starts as well and I would say that Windows 8.1 is doing quite well, as there are not really big issues coming with it.
If MS do not sign-off a RTM for their own production and for the OEM's to produce pre-install machines, they won't be able to deliver products in time for the holiday. Doesn't mean 9600.16384 is not the RTM, it is the RTM, period.
there are far too many variable these days and everybody and everything trying to take control and lotsa interferences in this endeless competition and i guess it must be impossible to have no bugs and don't forget we've done our part too we wanted it we wanted it before completction and i think that some guys @ microsoft have tried (maybe for the first time) too be brave
Truth is, every OS had, has and will have bugs. 8.x has about the same number of bugs as any others; it's just that it released ahead of its time. M$ would have been better off rolling out 8 when the market is dominated by tablets. But for now, the presence of desktops means that touch-oriented UI will be widely disliked. Result: Small UI changes are treated as bugs. In fact, the majority of bugs are invisible to the average user. So people, please do stop beating up 8.x just because it's not your type. This would be equal to getting asked out by some guy/girl, finding they're not your type, and ridiculing them in public rather than just getting over it.
