Windows 8.1 Symbols/Checked/Build Updated in MSDN - 10/23/2013 I can feel something in the MSDN Site, The following is released, hopefully we can expect the Multiple Editions - Rollup Updated ISOs, just like VL and Enterprise release. They have already replaced the old Symbols and Debug/Checked files with the following: Code: Windows 8.1 Symbols Debug/Checked (x86) - (English) File Name: en_windows_8_1_symbols_debug_checked_x86_3104934.msi Languages: English SHA1: 2CE50FF91BD8180D88E1E048B2AF3F8D91D0B158 Windows 8.1 Symbols Debug/Checked (x64) - (English) File Name: en_windows_8_1_symbols_debug_checked_x64_3104911.msi Languages: English SHA1: E7881A396CC2F62CEB260509CE3A5B5DD2C97086 Windows 8.1 Symbols (x86) - (English) File Name: en_windows_8_1_symbols_x86_3104946.msi Languages: English SHA1: 0E4F16A201CAB8C5AC0BEFC9C48EAAA2EA31A553 Windows 8.1 Symbols (x64) - (English) File Name: en_windows_8_1_symbols_x64_3104922.msi Languages: English SHA1: 99385FB528570886DFC2E02CF68D1978A4511103 Fingers crossed on MSDN Windows 8.1 Retail Rollup-Updated ISOs in MSDN - 10/23/2013
Let's hope so... BTW this is a really big blunder by M$...Never before have M$ updated RTM ISOs..If they feel the need now..that means that these GA Rollup updates probably patch some critical system components (like ntoskrnl)..I mean what's the point of releasing RTM ISOs?
It's not a blunder by Microsoft, they were very clear about their final release. Don't you remember that they announced to launch the final release not before October 17/18 along with GA. Who agreed for that? There were many problems internally / externally, MSDN / Technet / MPN / BizSpark / WebsiteSpark / DreamSpark Subscribers were screaming like hell. So, at-least to shut the dog's mouth they feed the RTM. No-one said nothing about it. Right?. Now it's time for Microsoft to make the changes as they have already witnessed the leak from WZOR, so it is good for them to update the products and re-release with new Images. Also this is not happening first time, do remember when Windows 7 SP1 was launched twice Feb 2011 and May 2011.
Surely the wzor / MSDN releases will just receive a Windows Update to bring them up to the same stage as these new ISOs though, no need to reinstall
I have named the thread intentionally. You know it can't be edited later when 8.1 Retail Images are out.
You can always ask a mod to rename it later. Now you are just making people excited, thinking that the updated multiple editions isos is released.
Pointless waiting there are loads of ISO's about that do the same if im not mistaken, just did fresh install again myself tonight just to test an AIO i made.
No excitement from me tons of posts lately with iso's this and iso's that lol..stick with the trusted ones i do.
if your asking if i installed via vmware then id have to say no, when i say i do a fresh install its for pc only..vmware is just too easy lol, was compiling the AIO and for some reason it wouldnt let me do the WMC bit, yet it does on fresh installs abit odd that. first one was ok but i had to redo it coz i saw win 8.1 pro more times than it should of. Yes im new to it so dont know the full of it yet.
I was suggesting you should use VMWare instead of wiping your system to test an ISO lol But if you enjoy a challenge then it's all good
Yes i knew what you meant, it takes me 10 mins to reinstall and yes i do like a challenge and iw as getting some errors on it this morning and again this afternoon which was why i did it, nothing beats a freshly installed windows if you know what i mean lol.
The ironic thing about the GA rollup ISO's is the GA package itself is flawed, something Microsoft admitted upon releasing it. There will be a replacement package in November, meaning the GA changes gone in to the new ISO's will be deprecated as soon as next month.
Reinstall on a SSD does take 10-12 mins. What takes time is the final system which for me takes a total of 4 hrs approx.
