Windows 8.1 Uefi install greater than 4gb

    i am using one of murphy78's windows 8.1 iso how would i install in uefi
    when it is bigger than 4gb?

    use a bigger USB drive. USB drive needs to be bootable and FAT 32, then extract the entire iso to the drive.

    i have a bigger usb drive but i thought uefi limits install to only 4gb?
    i tried using rufus to make it a uefi boot drive but it did not work it said iso is bigger than 4gb?

    was it fat 32? I install using a 64gb flash drive all the time.

    oh my bad, I was thinking it wouldnt fit on a dvd wasnt thinking wim lol

    Boot on a fat32 usb with efi to efi mode but don't have an install.wim in sources. On any other NTFS drive\partition\hdd\cd\dvd\usb have the sources\ directory with boot.wim, install.wim and setup.exe and the Windows setup will see the wim.

    An easy approach i use is boot to a 50 meg fat32 2nd partition on my USB to rEFInd with the ntfs.efi driver that scans the other partition (ntfs) for bootloaders. From there, boot the corresponding efi bootloader on the ntfs partition and run setup like normal.

    haha, i completely agree. I'm burnt out alot and sometimes just don't have the time or energy for a proper step by step reply. I really should make them a tad more legible though ;)
