hellow i have a gigabyte g41mt-s2pt motherboard irecently installed windows 8.1 when i plug my HP v125w USB Flash windows detect it as storage device but do not show it and i can work with it please help me
USB Flash drive issue Try Administrative Tools through the control panel, then Computer Management, then Disk Management. See if the flash drive shows up there and if it is formatted and healthy. If so, see if a drive letter has been assigned to it. If no drive letter, assign one.
Install your chipset drivers on the 8.1 machine then, it's obviously not a flashdrive problem if it works in another machine Does the USB on that 8.1 machine even work for anything else ?
i did format in windows 7 but still not shown in windows 8 in the picture you can see that it is detected but not installed correctly and not shown in explorer
Found this post on HP Support Site: "Mine died after 4 months. v125w does not appear on the HP site. Cannot get website support. Tried fill out the web form. I entered the only number found on the product for the SN but it said I needed a valid serial number. It showed that my product was a flash drive, but gave me a graphic of a camera when I clicked "Where do I find the serial number?" Tried every support number for HP that I can find - get the runaround and even more support numbers that don't support the product. One even gave me the ProCurve number, and then said they didn't know what ProCurve was. I've noted several other reviews that said the product dies after 1 day to 6 months. It's junk, and you can't make a claim on the 24 month warranty." If you get it working in Win 8.1, back it up early & often. I don't think I would trust it. I have USB flash from 128MB to 64GB. I can't remember how old the 128MB Sandisk Cruzer is, but all of mine have never had a problem. Sounds like yours is very questionable.
when i type list in the diskpart, it does not show up and i used the intel support web to detect the missing driver and every things is installed may be it has no solution in win windows 8.1 it work very well in windows 7 and windows xp
Looking at the specs. it appears there is no LED activity indicator. Too bad, it would have been handy to know if Win 8.1 was detecting anything when plugged in. This problem is really strange. By the way, is the motherboard at the default settings? I wonder if it was overclocked, could that be the source of the problem?
actually it has a green LED and and it indicate that windows 8.1 recognize it at first my motherboard is set to default setting and not overclocked
i do have other flash drive i only wanted to solve the problem so i could learn something new anyway thank you all for your response
