I have purchased Windows 8 Pro (through the offer), and activated it. I Installed Windows Media Center, and again, Activated It. I have formated my hard disk, and installed windows 8 and activated it, and again, installed media center and activated it.... Later, I changed my Motherboard and the CPU and the RAM, and now, I am obliged to activate. the activation throught the internet failed, So I activated through the phone... now I want to change my hard disk, so I need to format and install windows 8 again, but this time I have made an activation backup, and I wrote in the paper, the numbers that the phone operator given to me when I activated through the phone. I have these questions: 1- Is there a restriction in the number of activation can I made ? 2- Should I activate through the phone every time I format or the activation in the internet will succeed ? 3- what is the number that I give it to the phone operator ? does this number contain my product key ? 4-does the numbers in my paper can activate windows again without calling microsoft ?
I have made an activation backup, but now, I want to change my hard disk, and this will fail the activation I guess ?
1.: There should be no problem to activate as many time you change something, except that you legally could activate an run Windows 8 on 1 (one) Computer only 2.: You may need to activate most of the time using the Phone activation and may even need to talk to an Service Person on the other end 3.: Yes those numbers having also the P-Key inside 4.: Those number will change every time and useable only at the time you get them to activate once!
if you have problems activating after your hard disk change,PM me. i will be more than happy to help,it's my day off
@pisthai I have said 10 times (using online) and more using phone. One of my friend activated 41 times.
From what I know the phone-activate numbers ties with the date, so it would be useless after the day has passed.
Interesting! I had to call the 3. time and further on!! Again, it's may because of the location of the Activation Server?!
No, Phone activation isn't tied to the Date! I activated a few days ago Server 2003 Web Edition the 27. times and that OS is from End 2002!! We record any activation on the computer Service Card!
The tied to a date is for first time activation of the (Promotion-)Upgrades of Windows 8, for the initial activation.
Probably you must use activation code provided and activate on the same day that the phone call was made. Don't call today, then wait till tomorrow to activate.
His half statement confused us all... i think he talking about code generated on activation window during phone activation.
I don't know much on phone activations because I had only did it once for win7; but I read on other forums that the user couldn't use the numbers again on a following day - maybe it's like pisthai said it's for the initial activation.
I got what you read but not complete... Its regarding numbers generated during phone activation & those numbers you have to put to get your activation code. And those number changes time to time... They never found to be same on same system..
