Hi all, i was reading about how Windows 8 must be activated using a KMS server of some kind, i was wondering is it possible to activate Windows 8 without internet or use infinite trial to avoid connecting to the internet? Could i create a KMS server hosted on my LAN so i dont have to rely on the internet to activate Windows 8? Is there any method to activate Windows 8 offline?
If I remember correctly, it's KMS nano which emulatges a KMS server, but it causes AVira/windows defender to complain every time, even just the file location, so later I used KMS auto instead. edit: LOL, slave77 beats me to it...I know all these are MTK derivatives, just get a random product from your thread.
The Nano-builds are really ancient relics . Older AutoKMS fro Microsoft Toolkit were also flagged by most AVs. The new versions are mostly safe so far. As these tools are good for the user but bad for MS, they will get flagged at some point (mostly when spreaded massively).
Is the Microsoft tool kit offline compatible? I ran the Microsoft Tool kit and hit activate and it only says: "Processing", is KMSnano better the the Microsoft tool kit? Also im using this build of Windows 8: 9200.16384.WIN8_RTM.120725-1247_X64FRE_ENTERPRISE_EVAL_EN-US-HRM_CENA_X64FREE_EN-US_DV5 Should i use AutoKMS, or AutoKMS Server Service?
Really i thought that the eval versions are the full content of the normal Windows? I remember the Windows 7 enterprise eval was compatible with Window loader and became the full version of Windows, are normal version of Windows 8 only compatible with these tools?
There is a an xdelta section where ppl have patches for eval versions to final rtm versions. They are much smaller than downloading a whole nother iso. They do require learning how to use the xdelta program or the sfv program. If yer up for a slight challenge, they're the way to go....
I already downloaded a full Windows 8 Enterprise and installed it and works good so far, once it installed i used the Microsoft Toolkit offline and it activated perfectly this time. Will Windows 8 expire after 180 days even though its activated with Office Toolkit? Also does my Windows 8 image look untouched? en_windows_8_enterprise_x64_dvd_917522 | 3.25 GB CRC329B325C90 MD527AA354B8088527FFCD32007B51B25BF SHA-14EADFE83E736621234C63E8465986F0AF6AA3C82 My Windows 8 Enterprise copy SHA-1 matches the one mdl listed on the link below, does that mean my copy is untouched/genuine? mydigitallife.net/windows-8-official-iso-images-and-product-keys-released-on-msdn-and-technet/ Thanks all
Sha-1 matches and is genuine, so you can use MToolkit with this yes. Be design, KMS activation only lasts 180 days. The toolkit will do this for you every reboot if you allowed it to install AutoKMS, so will always be 180 days. Code: File: EN_WINDOWS_8_ENTERPRISE_X64_DVD_917522.iso Size: 3.25 GB (3,490,912,256 bytes) CRC-32: 9b325c90 MD4: 318f1eb6cd61112159fbd9ccea74c8b0 MD5: 27aa354b8088527ffcd32007b51b25bf SHA-1: 4eadfe83e736621234c63e8465986f0af6aa3c82
if your data match with genuine hashes, you are set. Simply compare data. When activated with Toolkit you are set for 180 days by design. there is no longer activation rage available by using Key Management Service. Tool reactivates automatically on every boot and so far, you have no need to worry. Same will/should come along with W8.1 in a few weeks ... and yes, your windoze is totally untouched because no files are being altered !!
Win8.1 will likely release soon, so it doesn't really matter. I think with some of the improvements in 8.1 you will likely want to use it evenatually...
