I saw a news is about in China was banned Windows 8 and windows 8.1 for selling products. Why China government would banned it??? I'm so sad..... :'(
AFAIK China has banned Windows 8 and 8.1 from Government Computers by general! That was done last month already.
Maybe the real reason for China Gov. is that W8. and W8.x always report to MS all that people's doing wth their machines...??
Depends on what is being discussed specifically. Why China chose to ban Windows 8, or what Windows 8 is doing to deserve such a ban?
China is a huge market for microsoft business. maybe they want to get something special from microsoft. If it's a matter of privacy, I'm sure China can handle it self.
I'm actually really looking forward to the non-online mode versions. I personally never use the one-drive or the internet explorer cloud stuff, or indeed the store, so it would be nice to not have all that crap integrated. China is right to not use those versions with skydrive. After the skype thing where ms handed over the method to beat the encryption to the govt, I can't say I blame them. Our U.S. govt is out of damn control with these spying programs. The weird thing is that all countries are doing things like this to an extent, they're just not getting caught.
But if I'm using Windows 8.1, from Malaysia to China for travelling, the Chinese Government will arrest me by police?
lmao, in any case the thread title is misleading. China just prohibit win8/8.1(and now Office 365) to be used in the government offices, they may eventually allow Threshold to be used.
hm. food for thought, quite apart from the snowden stories, there have been reports in the media of the kremlin reverting to typewriters, and now seemingly china, as a sovereign state, bans w8. for its governmental business, if i got it correctly.. what they will do about w9 threshold when it materializes, seems predictable. and they will be right.. even germany has voiced some doubts too, about w8.. and cloud based warez have been pushed down user`s throats for ages.. it seems there is more money to be made that way, even though it is leaky as a sieve. [ anything beyond my harddisk passes beyond my control, imo..] the surprising fact remains that governments remain unable to employ an os that they can control... all are made by us based companies, on us based servers.. under us laws.. bad recipe... now europe, china, or russia are not exactly in a digital stone age.. the surprising thing to me is that they never managed to make an alternative os to replace m$ stuff, to be on the safe side.. if only to replace those trillions xp machines they still use.. just my 2 cents.. [ and please do not start to tell me about linux, please..]
