    Hello,
there's a confusing idiom about "Backlight" and "Brightness".
My english also not too good, please bare with me.

Normally, in laptop screen, "Brightness" means how bright the Backlight lit up. But on Windows 8, "Brightness" did not change the backlight at all. It only changes the "image brightness".

Increasing Brightness in Windows 8 = increasing brightness in image editor (picture become white).

What's weird is that i can correctly changing the brightness (backlight) when Windows 8 still booting (blue windows logo). But as soon as i login, the brightness controll broken. It does not change the backlight, it change the image brightness.

Any idea how to fix this?
    I have tried
    - disabling adaptive on power option
    - update friver do latest AMD, its now latest beta 13.10.

    Thanks for any replies.

what are your specs as graphic cards and such? i am still waiting on a new driver for my amd 6370 as I cant change brightness. If i delete amd driver and work with native windows driver, then I can. So it is a driver issue in my case. Peace out

    FIXED.
    Found the solution.

Update these drivers / app to the latest from your manufacturer (i use the latest driver from other laptop model that just came out).
