    Hi all!

    I open up another thread for the discussion of when/if there will be a Windows 8 leak.

    But first let's set up some rules:

    1) No flaming
    2) No name-calling
    3) No childish games
    4) No insulting
    5) No demanding of a leak

    Please discuss in a friendly way, seeing it as an only technical matter. Members that can't play after these rules will face consequences, which can be or include deleting of posts, infraction, temporary ban or permanent ban. I'm pretty sick of all this nonsense we had in the first thread.

    Agree?! Good. :worthy:

    Do you believe the version number would stay as 6.2?

    Personally, I don't think it will be changed. MS would commit itself a suicide, if decides to change version number in late development stages. Application compatibility could be severely compromised. Vista demonstrated it. That might cost extra months of work.

    Then that means the naming and version systems are really messed up

    7 = 6.1
    8 = 6.2

    Man, Steven Sinofsky REALLY messed up this time.

    Guys,as far as we know,windows 8 will use the metro ui from windows phone....i'm making an application designed with metro ui too.If you want to try my application let me know(at least you see a very good design).The application is designed for gamers,you have tabs with gamespot,ign and so on,and under those tabs are other tabs with pc,xbox 360 and so on,there you got a rss feed under a very good looking metro design.

    Also you have a nice application installer,there is the soundtracks room,and many many other things.

    So...?

    XP was 5.1 and 5.2 :p

    If anything, Windows 8 being 6.2 is good because all the programs from Vista/7 should still work...

    BTW, has anyone unlocked any more info about the UI at all? I wonder what they will do to the superbar. That little picture in the corner looks kinda out of place at the moment...

    do you have proofs? :) Microsoft didn't say that they will change it into 7.0 :) that would bring a lot of incompatibilities, and there is not much time to fix them :)
