Hi guy's First off I'll openly admit my Google skills are a bit weak lol. I am on the lookout for a copy of "core" as I'm putting an ssd in my new Toshiba laptop. I have checked the edition and it say's "core" but I am struggling to find a confirmed donwload, so if anyone could point me in the right direction I would be very grateful. Cheers
Firstly, there are no Core only editions of the ISO from MS. Only OEM disk have Core only and since those cannot be verified then I wouldn't use them for main OS install. What you want to do is get one of these: Code: File: en_windows_8_x86_dvd_915417.iso MD5: 4252407333706df89a0c654924dd3f06 SHA-1: 22d680ec53336bee8a5b276a972ceba104787f62 File: en_windows_8_x64_dvd_915440.iso MD5: 0e8f2199fae18fe510c23426e68f675a SHA-1: 1ce53ad5f60419cf04a715cf3233f247e48beec4 These are MSDN iso's that can be downloaded from MS if you have a MSDN account but if not, a quick google search will provide download links. As always, you should verify the SHA-1 of the iso you want to use.
As mentioned by others, you want a RTM image pretty much. But note, it has to be an RTM image, and it has to match those specific hashes. The Windows 8 Setup/Upgrade Assistant executables do not download the same image, and will not work in most situations with use of an OEM key (like reinstalling to an Acer laptop for example with OA3.0)
He is looking for the CORE install. Not CORESL. Core/CoreSL keys will not work for each other. If the Core version gave you a error and CoreSL didn't- it is because you used the wrong version.
