Windows 8 Detecting my Graphics Card

    Windows 8 isn't detecting my graphics card, and i can't remember what it's called. How can i install a driver for it?

    try Driver Magician or other similar programs, but i doubt that they recognixe win8 :D

    I tried that, but i need to pay. It also didn't detect my NVidia GeForce 9600M GS. :( Anybody else having this problem?

    Windows 7 x64 beta drivers from Nvidia not working?

    Go to the device properties of your video card and copy/paste your "hardware id"

    Problem is i can't even see my graphics card in the Device Manager. :/

    Do you have an another 64 bits OS installed on your PC ? So you can have it from this other OS

    My Main partition has Windows 7 x64 on it.

    So you go into 8, go to the folder C:/NVIDIA/.../Display.Driver
    Open nvam.inf
    And modify lines that begins by %NVIDIA_DEV.0648.01% with this at the end : PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0648&SUBSYS_900F1043

    "This graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware". :(

    Use DriverMax or other driver backup utilities, backup all drivers from win7 side, then restore drivers on the win8 side...

    Sweet, thanks ODY123. I did that, restarted. Updated, (got told there wasn't one). Restarted and it worked fine. +1
