Hi all Unable to install x32 or x64 bit version on dell n5110 which has intel HD Graphics 3000, it installs right upto checking your devices and then the screen goes black and thats it... nothing else... I am thinking maybe a graphics card video driver issue maybe, strange as the development version work ok ?
UPDATE** OK, windows infact does install, but unable to view anything on the laptop. If i connect an external monitor it works, so dont understand why. Installed the Dell disply drivers using the external monito to see and still nothing on the laptop screen, if i book intowindows 7 it works ok, so its something to do with windows 8. I have even injected the driver into the install.wim, but still not working.. strange as the developers version worked ok???
Try to run Windows update from external monitor. Maybe one of the 6 or 7 updates includes a fix for your problem.
I think this is the issue of screen resolution. You should try to lower the default resolution in Windows 8 to support your laptop's screen.
i think its just a problem if your screen resolution too....try to change it if not working......go to your BIOS and try to chanfe yur graphique card size to be compatible with 3D
I have the same laptop and the same bugg...I drop down WCP instalation....cannot install even I have video driver and chipset driver installed WCP boot just in safe-mode
I try right now to install WCP using a online installer...maybe now it will works...I have Windows 7 who can be fully upgraded or if upgrade does not works the revert is 100% possible
I did an upgrade from windows 7 too, and that went the same way, installed al ok upto the part when it says "getting your devices ready", and then Black Screen and nothing after that!, unless i plug in an external monitor, uninstalled driver, reinstall nothing at all!.
I had dell n5110 but with NVidia card also so intel card works with windows driver and modded intel driver people with intel card only have problem with laptop screen
I had an old AMD with display problems. The same with an old HP my wife had. Vista drivers from AMD and HP fixed the problems. I had to install .NET 3.5 first then Vista Drivers.
After many attemps in windows 8.1,tried to install windows 10.Same problems, but with the help of an extern monitor ugraded bios to versio A11 and installed successfully driver video for windows 8.1 downloaded from Dell site.( Dell Inspiron N5110.
this wont help much, but i got similar hardware running just fine without any special effort. got the same iGPU, no problems whats so ever installing/running windows 7 x64 or 8.1 x64 on it. it installs just fine using the microsoft driver, and the intel driver installs just as well. must be some kind of a bug/glitch.
