Thanks so much for reminding. I was thinking about making a new topic about it but you did it now. Yes. One of the things that people don't care about it is: the Windows 8 license agreement dialogue shows that this is a prerelease software. So I think these should not be the final builds. Any ideas?
Strange, haven't really thought much of it. But it's not that important, I'm gonna buy this OS as soon as it's out anyway and then I will have the real deal. The thing I have now is just for testing.
Valid RTM keys which are issued at vlsc from M$ activate those leaks, though. That has been reported...
I noticed this the other day when trying out all the other keys to see how the EULAs differed, such as Core both Retail & Volume, one of the strings at the bottom of the EULA (can't remember whether Retail or Vol.) in the Setup referenced RC???
Another hint of a, maybe, not final version is in the 'Device Manager' -> 'Network adapters' -> 'Microsoft Kernel Debug Network Adapter'
I don't see this having any relevance. The ones actually being used are real ones, others probably just remaining from earlier builds. Even Server 2008 R2 SP1 contains beta EULAs with only the text "This is a placeholder EULA". No, kernel debugging is an OS feature to investigate issues, especially useful for driver development. It doesn't indicate anything.
Actually just looked in the 3 folders inside C:\Windows\System32\en-US\Licenses, none of mine mention PRERELEASE anywhere in the 3 documents? I'm running Pro. Only time I saw PRERELEASE and RC in the EULAID mentioned was in the Setup process but I don't think it was in the Pro EULAs just when using the Core keys?
9200 is the RTM version. Hot fixes/bug fixes will be released via windows update after or on october 26th or whenever microsoft makes them avaiable to download. Some updates have already leaked to winunleaked. Also, I'm pretty sure windows 7 rtm had version branding on desktop (refering to the comment on page 1), so do windows 8 rtm. Nothing odd at all.
Then the leaked OS installation will be updated to it through WU. Any trusted source confirmed it to be RTM, not WZOR only. ReleasedToManufacturers = RTM
