    Hi,

    I have installed Windows 8.1 volume edition with Update 1 and have KMS activation ( genuine). i want to have media centre in my pc. is it possible to have windows media center apart from purchasing a key ?

    Not available with volume activation methods.

    dunno, if you find one let us know how that worked. I don't have mak for wmc, not sure they exist

    Vol edition doesn't have WMC in it. :D

    Thank you guys. i dont have any retail key. i am using KMS activation.

    Yeah, was waiting for that :doh:. First they all come begging for the VL versions to afterwards wonder why they can't upgrade to ProWMC :p.

    i never used windows media center till now and i am planing to use now. this is why i opened this thread but dint mean to open for fun. Please respect others. i have Legal KMS actiavtion setup and i dont need any keys here. just came her for information

    I had WMC on my personal computer from beginning. After I was getting problems with the Update to 8.1.1 and had to do an full and clean installation, I decided NOT to use WMC again.

    Installed all the same applications I had on the first installation, I realized that the machine works just a bit better. I mean, instead of an display of the Desktop Icon's while starting, they appears much faster now and also the overall completion of the boot process of Windows is done in shorter time. Also Hibernation now work normal, which didn't on the old installation.

    I never really used WMC, so there isn't anything missed for me and I'm fine without it!

    Technically, it's advantage.
    ProWMC is a retail only edition, thus KMS activations are not supported; ProWMC cannot be activated against a real KMS server, but KMS emulators would do.

    Same happens, when you use MTK. However, you never feel that, you're running 45 days of activated Windows, AutoKMS will keep your copy of Windows activated, forever.
