call MS for pro-help. As a genuine Surface owner, they will be most happy to get your machine running again
surface tablets have RT edition AFAIK, there's not much about it since you or the oem don't install it on a hard drive like desktops and laptops, my android phone screwed and decided to wipe everything after logging on my google account and first sync it brought all the stuff back. Don't know if you're using it with a hotmail or ms account in that case the same info (contacts all that) should be available going with a desktop browser to live mail like i find it on gmail. Cheers,
Also it's unlikely to be able to read the password of an MS account. Factory reset could be more helpful.
His post did say he has the password in a txt file on the desktop. If he were able to use Hiren’s BootCD he would be able to Read/open/save that txt file. We are not talking about some hidden encrypted file here, just a plain old txt file.
Please try the free Linux program chntpw (chntpw.com), which is part of Offline NT Password & Registry Editor. It could be used to reset / blank a lost Windows password.
