I hope you are not the Peter Kleissner that I find on google.... then id stay away from your patch. Oh I see... you are... im not touching it.. thanks anyway.
@stitchy: No, doesn't change anything with certificates/RAC @segobi: sorry but you are acting a bit unprofessional. I am a programmer (and security researcher, actually the 'good guy'), no need to scare anyone off here. If you have any doubts feel free to analyze my 8 KB patcher, not much in there to find. Btw I have also linked technical info in the first post, you might want to check them out. @canouna: It's my pleasure Mustafa Can has done some work on removing the watermarks already, going to patch them out as well tomorrow and adding 64-bit support.
the posted .exe is very minimalist, and appears to do what is described in the first post. I don't have Office installed so I cant read the .msg file.
@nononsence checked your Win 7 patcher source (VB), only thing you are doing different is also patching the registry values for fSingleSessionPerUser and LimitBlankPasswordUse. I guess I will change them as well. Edit: Looks like those 2 registry keys have no effect on 8.
Just added watermark patching (current version is now 1.1). Look at the first post, also added a short readme there. For technical background information (about the watermark patching) read bit[dot]ly/zg3osa. The patcher is now 9 KB of size, does everything automatically. It does not remove (yet) the ".b32615d501a711d0" from the desktop, I will investigate further on that. Also I have to work on 64-bit support.
A loader would completly remove the watermark hooking the ExtTextOutW api under explorer.exe . Any ways nice work.
