has anyone else noticed win 8 sometimes slows down and is very slow? sometimes i have to restart several times untill the slowness is gone sometimes! I have an hp dv7 laptop with 8 gig ram! i begin to wounder if it could be the hardware perhaps? or is it windows?
I've only experiencing internet browsing slow down, hanging a lot in "sending request" state, but nothing else. What kind of slow down you have?
internet browsing...even when i type this text it hangs and lags behind! when i boot up sometimes and switch to desktop the Icons are gone and it is totally slow..and they pop up after 10-20 seconds..it seems like the whole deskop is struggeling..can reboot and then it is working ok and when i play Music with mpc (latest k-lite codec pack standard) Everything else is slowing down (sometimes)..well it is not mp3's but mp4 files i play
Yup, had the same slowdowns. Installation of AMD smbus drivers + disabling Windows Defender solved my problems.
okey i will try that..hmm... cant find AMD smbus drivers on amd's site i have an hp dv7 i7 with amd hd radion 5500 (someting)
I just read at HP you have Intel chipset -> Installing latest Intel chipset drivers may solve your problems -> If you are activated BACKUP YOUR ACTIVATION!
I can say mine is running ridiculously quick (and my laptop is only 2gb ram 1.87 dual core)It would suggest if yours is running slow that you do an anti virus/malware scan or even a reinstall.
I am using nod32,it says that it is compatible, but it flickers sometime and it says that it's not running i have seen now! yes..i am thinking of a reinstall..well..i could be tomorrows Little Project "if it take more then 15 min to fix..format c:"
Seems like a consensus to me. If it's running slow, you did something wrong or your machine has problems.
Mine is soooo fast. But I'm running on a 4GHz 965BE with an SSD, but it's still faster than 7. (3ish second boot up from after the bios)
i have Always been using nod32 for it small hunger for memory! but what can be recommended instead then?
I personally use COMODO, but I actually trust the new Security Essentials + Smartscreen built into Windows 8 for my normal home use computers.
