Hi, I think the title says it all. Is there any difference between the RTM versions of Windows 8 (also available on MSDN / Technet) and the retail Boxed DVD version in terms of features or are they exactly the same (bit to bit)?

    Thanks

Exactly the same bit to bit, probably not.
    Similar, yes.
They would have the same name otherwise, not rtm and retail. :)

Rtm was released in august and retail in october. In those 2-3 months MS had all the time to polish their product.

If you can get a retail dvd from a friend, do it, and activate with KMS

Sorry my friend, your answer is wrong. There is no difference between RTM and Retail. RTM is the final version of W8 as it was issued in august. Retail means, that you can activate it with a retail key which comes with the box. It is no VL version or enterprise but all are RTM = final
