Windows 8 sidebar and gadgets

    where is the sidebar and gadgets in windows 8 ???

    Or simply use the installer from my signature. It will install it in vista-like-sidebar-style, which you can change by rightclicking on this sidebar to "Close", afterwards it behaves like win-7-sidebar :D.

    You could install VirtualBox and run W7 in it. ;)

    Who needs the sidebars of Vista and 7 when you can snap applications actually?

    Snapping one application doesn´t replace functionality of sidebar. And it looks realy crappy to me though. Btw, i don´t think this answers OP´s question :D.

    Well I think that the sidebar and gadgets are also dead in Win7 and Vista due to major security concerns. MS doesn't even let you download new gadgets for Vista or Win7 so if you have Win 8 use metro (or how they called now) apps => more functions and more secure.
