I was try all this start menus for Windows 8 and BEST is on 100% "Start8 (by Stardock Corporation)" Yes ClasicShell is free blabla, but Start8 cost now only 4,49$ and every is finished and works best (best speed,theme,without bugs, same as in w7 but in w8 coat,minimalistic,without slowing, smallest resource utilization,etw) ... for me is Start8 best (but who doesn't have 4.49$ so for him is best ClasicShell)

I voted none. I tried a few but I am all about change and actually like the UI in Windows 8. I have a dual boot with Windows 7 and had not used it for a while. I recently booted to it and realized that the start menu is not at all important to me. JMHO.
Tried most of them. "Handy Start Menu" does not work properly but looks promising "Revel BringBack 2012" looks nice but the button does not work properly. (Yes I watched the video. Button-Toolbar won't activate) "Classic Shell" is very good and I used it before I switched to Windows7 Explorer by Tihiy. "Start8", tried it back when it was just Metro in a box. Was the same s**t as Metro without a box. But I just tried it and they added an option to switch to a Windows 7 like start menu and i have to admit it seems 100% perfect. Edit: What I hate about Start8 is that you can't install it for just one user account. It has a service that's always on. There is also no way to close Start8. Disabling the service does only work if you reboot afterwards.
UPDATE: I have rearranged the first list entries according to the recent poll results, tidied up the list a bit (removed screenshots and videos of unpopular solutions, but kept the links) and added StartIsBack (by Tihiy) to the list. Unfortunately I can not add StartIsBack to the poll because I can't edit poll entries.

I originally liked Classic Shell as it is free. I'm a Stardock customer so I decided to try Start8/ It is IMHO the best as it is exactly the same as the Windows 7 Start Menu.
