Win 8 is a "whole new breed of cat", only time will tell what can/can't be done. If the $40 upgrade fee is true, why worry about it, JMO

The $40 upgrade is true, it was officially confirmed by Mr. Brandon LeBlanc. :D

When RTM next month, people who doesn't have a MSDN/technet subscription would need a key just to install it(if it leaks, and probably will), and try until Jan 31 to make uphis mind if he wants to spend the 40 bucks. :movingtongue:

I think $40 price is pretty much a steal!

Windows 7 is a perfect powerful upgrade from XP or Vista, only innovations and stability... WORTH of that price!
Let us see what really offers 8 better than windows 7, only hybrid boot(other we have LESS functionality than before...), then really 40 bucks is a steal!!

    @ FaiKee
We're not allowing MAK serials to be posted.

Tks, Daz, I'll remember that, then people has to follow me on twitter.

btw, just curios, is it allowed to post my activated screen-shots? it shows the partial(last part of serials), or should I cover them too? :D

Please don't PM me for the key, I am leaving for Shenzhen later, and I won't answer it anyway.:p

We'd appreciate if you covered the end of the key so that it doesn't encourage others to ask for it or talk about MAK keys much.

I don't think MDL has ever allowed MAK keys as in most cases they're stolen from someone who's paid for it originally. So we do this so that we don't receive any takedown notices from Microsoft, as we've received them in the past.

tks and understood, then I won't post my activated screen-shot altogether; because it's different from "the other key".

Btw, if you were successful to make a phone activation(Congradulation! :D), remember to keep the 48 digit code - this is the hash code, next time (or any number of times, unless you had made any device change ) when re-install, just enter the same code and get activation, no need to restore the spp folder.

Of course, it is always good to backup the spp folder, just in case. :p

people say a lot about Windows,...and speculation

-if you have installed the latest evaluation copy of Win 8 Enterprise from MSDN its 90 days. Else 30 it is.
    and then what happens?
-only warnings appear which can we disabled ?
-There is no such 30 day grace period for Windows 8... If you don't activate, every 3 hours you'll see a watermark on your desktop that say "Activate Windows". You can skip that by restarting the explorer.exe process from the taskbar. And yes, you won't be able to put a user account picture, set a lock screen background and choose start screen background & theme colors.
-So if I get rid of the watermark, I am basically able to use it for as long as I want other than those limitations?
-At the moment, YES. I don't know if things will change after October 26th. I would recommend you install the Windows 8 Enterprise Evaluation.
