    Its currently in beta but called officially "Consumer Preview"

    the milestone 3 was called "Developer Preview"

    There various theories about the release date for retail. Favourite at the minute is Q1 of 2013.

    I guess that the next milestone (Release Candidiate) will be out at the end of May/early June followed by the final version which is due to finalize in July/Agust. Then it will be released to the public hopefully in October.
