Hey guys, i was wondering if any of you that are really good with security, had a look at this? I took it for a spin in a vm, and superficially it looks amazing. I i got the same feeling like running windows 7 for the first time. Just a beautiful modification of 8.1 industry pro, it looks almost like a spiritual successor to windows 7. Its very lightweight, and would be alot less difficult to get running. Linus tech tips even had a episode about it: Im considering using the moded version, or recreating the mod myself if theres serious security concerns. That is if i fail with the windows 7 uefi issue. A small thread about this mod: https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/748493-windows-9/
The clickbait video is basically Windows 10 just modded after a fresh install, with the consumer experiences already in place. I find it beneficial to prevent it in the first place by using NTLite instead. Source: https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/748494-windows-95-install-guide/
That theme is implemented using multiple different tools, so i dont think a simple theme file will be sufficient? Although if you need a certain file i can get it for you. Just tell me the directory. I havent messed with themes in a long time so i dont know where is what exactly. But id be happy to help however i can BTW you may want to have a look here: https://www.eastcoast.hosting/Windows9/ They do go on in recreating this mod on top of windows 10, but what im interested in is the original modification that uses windows 8.1 embedded industry pro as the starting point. The original modification is here: https://www.eastcoast.hosting/Windows9/
By the way, forgot to mention, sorry for posting this thread in the wrong section. Also i actually installed a windows 8.1 embeded industry pro (the windows that this mod is based on) and my dx9 benchmark scores were about 40% lower then in windows 10!? And dx10 + dx11 were capped at 59.99fps for some reason. (Vsync was off) So i may be forced to use crappy anti consumer win 10 :-/
